  • Alumni Weekend
    • Derek Frose (Previous CSA President) asked us for help in scheduling a CS/CIS Alumni reunion during Alumni Weekend from April 4-5
    • Derek also wanted us to invite current CS/CIS students to network with alumni, as many of them have companies themselves.
    • We will look into something for this.
  • Tutoring
    • Mason presented his finalized plan for tutoring
    • Need to determine what would be required for providing a letter of reference.
      • If the tutor is excelling in their role, then when their name is sent to the school at the end of the semester, we will also ask the school for a reference letter based on their work.
    • Keep the hiring of tutors as lenient as possible
    • Letter of reference is NOT guaranteed.
    • Get in touch with Raechel to advertise our tutoring program.
    • Mason will manage the tutoring program (hiring, setting up the ticket tool, sending names to the school of computing, etc)
  • Workshops
    • Mason presented an outline for workshops and how the CSA can support workshop hosters.
    • Must create a sign-up form for those intending to host workshops.
      • We can support these hosters (e.g., first-time workshop hosters, logistics)
    • Email Alana or Raechel to spread the message about the CSA’s eagerness to host and support workshops.

Action items

  • Mason will finalize the letter of reference situation and start setting up the ticket tool.
  • Mason will create the sign up form for the workshops.
  • Everyone needs to look into finding cheaper options for merch.
  • Continue looking into the open-source project proposed in the last meeting
