Hi everyone,
McGill is pleased to announce that admissions for the ad hoc launch of the McGill Graduate Program in Biophysics for Fall 2025 is now open. Also see https://www.crbsmcgill.ca/graduate-program-in-biophysics
Prospective students are able to find the Biophysics Program in the applications portal here: https://www.mcgill.ca/gradapplicants/programs
This program will be interfaculty and interdepartmental, integrating rapidly evolving and converging disciplines to advance biophysics research and enhance PhD training. A key feature of the program will be the first-year lab rotations (three rotations in CRBS labs), allowing students to experience different lab environments, biophysical techniques, and research topics. Upon completing these rotations, students will select a supervisor and lab for their thesis work. Incoming students will form a cohort, fostering connections with peers from their own and other cohorts.
As the proposed PhD program aims to recruit students from multidisciplinary backgrounds, the program has designed courses that provide a strong foundation in fundamental aspects of biophysics and offer a deep dive into the various methodologies used in biophysics. These courses will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of biophysics, including the breadth of biophysics research.
