Job Posting - Computing Tutor

Opportunity: One-on-One Computing Tutor for 12-Year-Old Student

We are looking to connect with a UFV Computing Science student who would enjoy working one-on-one with our 12-year-old son. He is homeschooled and autistic, and he thrives best in a calm, one-on-one learning environment. He has previously worked with a UFV student tutor with great success and really enjoyed the experience. Together, they built a computer, explored how computers work, modified games, learned programming basics, and practiced strategies for improving at games like Roblox.

We are hoping to find a student with similar skills and interests who can:

- Support him in learning about computers and programming.

- Explore practical projects such as game modification, coding, or building/programming hardware.

- Provide mentorship and encouragement in a way that is patient and adaptive to his learning style.

This is a paid position (funding is available through our homeschooling program), with flexible scheduling to accommodate both our schedule and the the tutors. Sessions would normally take place in Abbotsford.

Both my wife and I are proud UFV alumni, and we look forward to working with another UFV student to continue supporting Jacob’s learning journey.
